Been Awhile

It's been awhile since I last posted...sorry about that!
We've had a lot of stuff happening...some busted relationships in the church, some incredible Easter stories, and generally just lots of stuff - both good and bad!

Here are some of the good things:
1) Our average number of families coming to our Fruit of the Vine food shelf each Saturday has grown tremendously! Over the past few weeks we've had18-22 families come to receive food. Last weekend a gal was driving down the road and needed to have some work done on her car but also needed groceries. She saw the food shelf signs and came in to get free food which allowed her to have enough money to get her car fixed! She was really blessed!

2) We've had 3 or 4 families start coming to church after they visited the food shelf. This has been a great way to bless our community and meet our neighbors. We're meeting so many new people -- and now they're telling others about the help they've received! Awesome!

3) Our Easter services went well --we had four people commit their lives to Christ! I know that was several weeks ago already but you needed to know how good God is, and how people are coming to know Him here at the Vineyard! In fact, the Holy Spirit has been showing up regularly during our SUN am services. People are being touched and blessed. It was incredible yesterday to see one young man just crying and crying because He felt so loved by God! He couldn't explain it! He was just simply overwhelmed by God's love for him. Way to go God!

4) We had a guest at our Easter service that received a Hershey 'He Loves You' bar from a gal who attends our church. She got it the night before Easter and then came to the service that morning. She couldn't believe how friendly the church was and said she wanted to go to a small group and start getting connected!

5) We held a free oil change a SAT or two ago and blessed 10 families with a complete oil change and fluid fill. We even inflate tires, check light bulbs and provide free coffee and doughnuts. It's a good thing! (Plus they were invited into the food shelf and many were given free bags of food!)
Isn't God generous!

It's a privilege to serve a loving and generous God and also to serve alongside each of you!
God's best to you today!
Chris

No Foolin'

We've finished our first six weeks of hosting a food shelf here at the Vineyard, and what an amazing trip it's been already! We've had two snowstorms that pretty much wiped our attendance out on back2back weekends -- but yet our faithful volunteers showed up! Way to go!

Here are some of the stats:
TOTAL for March statistics= 36 families (126 people) 1,888 lbs of food - 15 clients from February came back to use us again in March

Weekly breakdown:

3/3 5 families

3/10 2 families

3/17 8 families

3/24 7 families

3/31 14 families 774 LBS of food!!!!

Note: February we served 12 families total and gave 425 LBS food

Our goal in starting the Food Shelf was to be serving 15 families per week by the end of the year...so far, so good! Even better news is that some of these families are showing up at church to check us out and have been blessed with car seats, diapers, and other essentials that we found out were needed. Kudos to our team for the hard work that they've put in; and also to the church for the extreme generosity being shown as you give to what God's doing here in the South Metro area. Keep volunteering and keep praying! God is doing such good stuff!

Check in tomorrow and I'll write about the night of Worship & Prophetic we held last FRI.
