Storm warning this past weekend

This past weekend we had a winter storm warning in effect from FRI - SUN. I don't believe it was just about the weather either. Our church had a whole bunch of activities going on this whole weekend! I love that! But today I am wiped out -- I bet our whole staff is as well, plus the many volunteers that helped out! But...it was soooo good!

We had an area worship gathering where all the Vineyards in MN & WI come together and worship together, pray together, and learn from one another. What a great group of people God has called together to lead His church in these areas. I'm always blessed when I hang out with them! Plus, God shows up in big ways!

I was praying for a couple people the other night when I just had very clear pictures of what God wanted to say to them. To the one -- a girl; I shared with her what I thought God was saying and she just burst out in tears! A little later I asked her about it and she told me the whole story of what that word meant to her and her husband. It is so cool to be used by God to bless others. She was so amazed by God and that he cared enough to show her this stuff.

We also had our food shelf open. Because of the weather though we only had one family come. They received prayer and were really blessed by the prayer and the food. We took some bags of groceries over to a shop that sells second hand clothes and blessed their employees. They couldn't believe that someone would come out in this weather to share God's love with them. They loved it!

Then on SUN we had our two services and I watched as the church prayed for one another. It was so cool because you could actually see God moving amongst His people as they prayed. Some were crying, others hugging, and others were just enjoying His presence. One guy had come in off the street and told me later that he felt like God had wanted him there all weekend and that he couldn't get the name Vineyard out of his mind. So he came and said that he was overwhelmed by God's goodness.

There is so much more that God is doing and that He wants to do! Keep praying church! God is on the move -- and we get to be part of what He's doing!
Have a good one today!

A Great Day!

We opened our Fruit of the Vine Food Shelf at South Metro Vineyard this past Saturday. Without any advertising outside of the church body we had 9 families/individuals come and receive food and also be offered prayer. It was incredible to see our team functioning together. They had such joy in serving the people who came in! What a great thing to be part of!

You may be asking yourself why didn't we advertise more? Well --we didn't want to be overrun since it was our first day...we wanted to wade out into the water, not just dive in over our heads. Also, Wimber always used to say to build slow to grow fast. We want to be here for a long time and we want to learn how to do it right. This gave us time to learn and will provide us space to do that for the next couple of weeks.

Our Mexico team came back last week and shared their testimonies last night at the Big Worship. WOW! That was so incredible to hear -- it makes me want to go again! There were some pretty cool prayer experiences that took place! God was definitely good to our team and to the people they ministered to! Plus, we topped the whole weekend off with BIG WORSHIP!
What a great weekend!

GOD is GOOD -- all the time! Have a good one today!

WOW! God is good!

Yesterdaya local food shelf donated almost 1,000 pounds of food to our shelf for us to give away! Our team was scrambling to respond because the food had to be picked up within a 2 hour time frame. They got it worked out and brought the food to the church building and last night when I came in for a meeting -- there were some of the team members. They were faithfully sorting the food and placing it on the racks, getting it ready to be handed out this Saturday.

God has just been so faithful in providing for this little (ad)venture! It reminds me daily of how much He cares for people and wants them to be cared for! I'm so thankful to b part of a church that cares for the needs of others!

God's best to you today!

Make No Mistake: This is a Big One!

In our membership class yesterday (Beginnings) one of the people said, "There's always an outreach or activity to do here at the Vineyard to bless others. This is a generous church."

I love that! You know we're hitting the mark when people, especially newer people to the church, see that we're desiring to be generous like God is generous. I was so worn out and tired midway through this class, but when I heard this lady say that it re-energized me! I felt like we were hitting the bullseye with the things that we're doing!

Here comes the big one: This weekend the food shelf opens! Saturday morning 9:30-11:30 our doors will swing open and we'll give away groceries for free. I'm excited and also anxious to see what God is going to do! How many people will show up? How will we bless them? Will our volunteers extend the kindness and hospitality the Jesus demonstrated? I'm sure we will -- I just can't wait to see it!

Keep praying church! This is going to be another great week as members of the Kingdom!

I was thinking of next year...

That score was for next year when the Chiefs beat the Bears in the Super Bowl.

Anyway...today was incredible! I'm not sure if everyone knows this or not, but we're opening a food shelf at the Vineyard next weekend (FEB 17th). One of our team members, Sally, backed up to the church today with a car load of goodies from a local supermarket. We were all so excited and then she said, "They said we can come back tomorrow and get more! Who can we get to help us out?" There were dozens of loaves of bread, cookies, and bars, plus at least a dozen pies. I had to try one of the rice krispie bars -- I'm the quality control rep for the church! LOL!

So...we need some help here. If you're part of the SMVC family and are willing to help during the day let me know and I'll get you hooked up!

We've got food out there that stores are willing to give...we just need your help in gathering it in and dispersing it! Let me know if you can help!

Making it official!

Just wanted to get this on record before the big game -- the Bears will win! 21-18. Just thought you'd like to know. Now, please realize that since I'm not a fan of either team I can't be held accountable if the outcome is different...only when the game has the KC Chiefs in it will it be an official ballgame again! LOL! As I say every year -- we'll win it next year!
Enjoy the game!
